Naturally Dyed Eggs
Egg dyeing is a fun way to celebrate this time of year—and it's a tradition that goes way back—as much as 5,000 years when Persians celebrated springtime with eggs colored with plant-based dyes. You very well might have dye-worthy ingredients in your kitchen already!
Co-op Activity: Celebrate Earth Day!
Earth is an amazing planet, and Earth Day is a reminder to celebrate and protect our home. Here’s a few ways you can do your part to take care of our Earth on Earth Day or any day!

Ultimate Youth Recipe Challenge
The Ultimate Youth Recipe Challenge is open to youth in pre-K through high school in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte counties in Missouri. The contest asks youth to work together with their families to create a nutritious lunch recipe using at least one local ingredient.
An initiative of KC Healthy Kids, the contest is a wonderful opportunity for youth to showcase their originality, buy local produce or use produce grown in their gardens, develop healthy eating habits and spend valuable time with the family in the kitchen. We encourage you to join in the fun!
Veggie of the Month: Peas
Did you know you can eat the pea pods, the pea leaves, and pea shoots?
The oldest pea ever found was nearly 3,000 years old and discovered on the border of Burma and Thailand.
The world record for eating peas is held by Janet Harris of Sussex who, in 1984, ate 7175 peas one by one in 60 minutes using chopsticks!
Kids ages 12 and under are invited to become a Co+op Explorer!
