The Merc Co+op is much more than a grocery store, and staff at the co-op know good food like no one else. We know the local farmers and ranchers (and shoppers!) on a first name basis. We make sure the foods you find on the shelves at The Merc Co+op meet high standards and also allow you to stick to your budget. Every week there are new great deals on organic produce, local foods, and your familiar favorites.

Produce
Fresh produce is the first thing you’ll see at The Merc Co+op. Our coolers and shelves are overflowing with fresh vegetables and fruits, locally grown and organic varieties, high quality seasonal produce, and fresh flowers. As you shop, you can learn about the farmers who grew your organic carrots and kale, taste the newest crop of berries and get inspired to cook with seasonal ingredients.

Meat & Seafood
Our butchers believe great quality meats start with sustainable farms and compassionate and humane treatment of animals. You’ll find local Kansas beef and pork, free range chicken, and wild-caught sustainable seafood. If you don’t see what you want, just ask.
We make signature items like our Merc Made sausage right here in our Lawrence butcher shop and will do custom cuts and special orders anytime.

Deli & Cafe
With dozens of unique items available every day, our deli is a great place to figure out “what’s for dinner?” Each morning, you can find breakfast options with hot coffee and cold self-serve drinks.
At the Lawrence store, try our soup, salad bar, sushi, or grab-and-go grain salads. Or, customize a sandwich at our made-to-order sandwich counter.
From whole roasted chickens to take-and-bake meal options, we have something for every appetite every night of the week!

Bakery
Take your freshly-baked muffins and scones to go, or enjoy them in our sunny, on-site café. Our Lawrence bakery uses local eggs and Kansas flour to bake dozens of treats each day. Whether you’re looking for a decadent slice of cheesecake, a vegan peanut butter cookie or a dozen scones to serve your guests, our bakery has what you need. Our menu changes with the season, but you'll always find delicious desserts including wheat-free and vegan options!

Wellness
Find supplements, vitamins, minerals and herbs, toothpastes, sunscreens, soaps and beauty products at both locations.
