Local Producers
The Merc Co+op’s commitment to providing local foods and products is not just a whim, it is written into the Ends that have guided our co-op for 50 years.
We work hard to build strong business relationships with local farmers and producers. Over 25% of the products we sell are grown, raised or made within 200 miles of The Merc Co+op. That’s $4,289,299 of sales in 2023 that directly supported our local economy. When you purchase local products from the co-op, you become part of these local social and economic networks that we work to create. When you put locally grown and locally raised food on your table, you become part of a sustainable local food system.
How Do We Define Local?
Products labeled Local at The Merc Co+op have been raised, grown, or made within 200 miles of our stores. We’re thrilled to work with more than 200 local producers and vendors from our neighborhood.
