Douglas County CASA trains and supports Court Appointed Special Advocates—volunteers—to advocate for children from Douglas County who have experienced abuse or neglect and are under the protection of the court. Appointed by a judge, CASA volunteers meet with the child, review records, and collaborate with family members and professionals to ensure the child’s needs are met. CASA volunteers are trained and supported by staff supervisors to guide children toward safe, permanent homes and stable lives. Douglas County CASA’s vision is for every child in our community to thrive in a safe, nurturing, and permanent home.
