Class FAQ

IN-PERSON AND ONLINE CLASSES

Do I need to wear a mask?
Masks are now optional in stores and classrooms.

What is the difference between demonstration and hands-on class formats?
Demonstration classes offer a chance for attendees to sit back and watch a pro at work. Hands-On and Cook-Along classes are designed as an interactive experience, with the instructor guiding students through making a dish. Kids’ Hands-On classes are designed as a fun hands-on learning experience for children.

Can I bring my child to class? Are Adult classes too advanced for children?
While Adult classes are geared toward adult learning styles, children mature enough to attend are welcome. We recommend ages 13 and up.

All attendees are required to have a purchased seat. No children in arms or on laps.

Do I need to bring anything to class?
Digital recipes are emailed prior to class. If you would like to reference a hard copy in class, you can print recipes and bring them with you. For hands-on classes, please bring an apron if desired and wear closed-toe shoes.

Can I bring wine or beer to drink during class?
Kansas state law strictly regulates alcohol service in classes. Classes with a 21+ tag feature sample-size servings of beer, wine or spirits, rather than restaurant-style pours. Alcohol is not allowed in other classes and may not be brought by attendees.

REGISTRATION

How do I know for sure that I am enrolled in class?
After your payment is processed online, you will be taken to a confirmation page. At this point you may exit the page. Within a few minutes you will get an “Order Confirmed” email. This is your confirmation that you are enrolled. If you do not receive the “Order Confirmed” email within 24 hours, please contact us.

How do I receive class information?
Class information and materials will be sent to the email address provided on your registration form. Please be sure it is valid.

Do I have to be a Merc Co+op owner to take classes?
Our classes are open to everyone! Our owners do get special benefits and perks. Find out more about ownership.

Can I register and pay for a class at my local store?
You may register online 24 hours a day. Classes cannot be purchased in store.

My child is interested in a kids’ class for an older age group. Can I sign them up?
Our kids’ classes are formatted for the age ranges listed. While we recognize that there are varying skill levels among kids of any age, for the most successful learning experience, we ask that children attend classes for their age range.
